A training series led by Judge Douglas Johnson of the Separate Juvenile Court of Douglas County that focuses on infants and toddlers in the child welfare system
Phase I: Overview of Babies and Toddlers in the Child Welfare Court System
An introductory all-day seminar focusing on the 0-3 population and how the court and its stakeholders can ensure the best possible outcomes for them
Phase 1 was held in Valentine on June 10 and Grand Island on August 12.
Phase II: Advanced Topics and Implementation into Court Practice
An all-day training and workshop addressing mental health issues of babies and toddlers and treatment services, and putting knowledge into court practice. An afternoon workshop with a core team selected by the Through the Eyes of the Child Initiative local team will work on local implementation.
Phase II was held in McCook on May 6 and Broken Bow on June 9.
